Codecool: Why do we work with one of the best-known coding school of Hungary?

Codecool offers a year-long coding training program where students learn the basics of programming skills along with getting several soft skill trainings. When Codecoolers get accepted to Saltech, they immediately enter the Saltech Academy Program, where their professional journey begins. During this 6 months long training period, the trainees acquire the CSA (Certified System Architect) and the CSSA (Certified Senior System Architect) qualifications. Once done with classroom learning, it is time for them to apply their newly acquired skills in a real-life setting. Starting off with proof of concept exercises, they learn how to use the tool for solving common types of problems. Upon completion, they enter a mentored project work phase, where they join a team of more senior PEGA architects and start working on their first assignment with a dedicated mentor.

Since our collaboration with Codecool has started, we realized that the students who graduate from the coding school become excellent junior software developers. They are motivated to learn about PEGA and to develop further their programming skills as they join the Saltech team right after they have graduated from Codecool. This means that they are efficient in learning new technologies thoroughly and quickly, and the students are very successful when it comes to working with new technologies. At the Saltech Academy Program we put special emphasis on developing general software engineering skills in the case of junior developers, because even though the graduates have acquired a strong base of coding, we believe that it is highly important to extend their knowledge and to practice their programming skills in the first few months of their career. Even after their graduation from the Academy Program we highly encourage to take part in different training programs to develop their technical skills.

Those Codecoolers who had been working at Saltech for over a year have gained experience in various projects, such as working with one of the leading Hungarian insurance company, a British multinational telecommunications conglomerate or the largest industrial manufacturing company in Europe. They had the opportunity to gain experience and travel abroad on international projects, for instance to Germany, Italy, Turkey and Spain.
